SUBMITTING A VIDEO TO MANHATTAN, QUEENS, BROOKLYN, BRONX and
NEW YORK IDOL 2010
We have two registration categories. You can chose either one.
- 1)Videos of contestants' performance shot by our crew in New
York City. Registration fee for this will be $35.00. This fee will include
a free copy of multi-shot video.
OR
- 2) Videos of contestants' performance submitted by the contestant.
Registration fee for this will be $25.00. This fee does not include copy
of multi-shot video.
Both categories will be treated equally.
If you are submitting your own video, your video will have to
meet the following criteria:
Song can be A Cappella, accompanied by karaoke tracks or music tracks
on CD, and up to a maximum of four minutes in length. No live music. No
lead vocal tracks, back ground vocals are OK as long as they do not drown
out, overpower or otherwise affect the contestant's lead vocals. The first
thing to do is submit your Entry/Registration form and fee. The video must
be uploaded to youtube.com as explained below but not before August 1, 2010.
Again the video (tape or DVD) should not be submitted with the Registration
Form and Fee. See Video Submission below.
1) Video will be no shorter than two and a half (2.5) minutes.
2) Video will be no long than four (4) minutes.
3) Video will only include contestant or contestants "obviously"
singing 90% of run time.*
4) Video audio will only include contestant or contestants voices, back
ground vocals are OK as long as they do not drown out, overpower or otherwise
affect the contestant's lead vocals.* No applause/clapping
5) Video will not include any pornography, nudity or obscenities.
6) Registration fees for Video Submissions that do not meet the above criteria
will not be refunded.
7) Video submissions will have to be uploaded by the contestant to YouTube.com.**
It will then be made available on the website where voting takes place in
the order described below.***
8) Do not were Logos of any kind. Including sports teams, designer names,
or company logos.
- *If there is any question raised that either:Lip-syncing or
Lip-synching (short for lip synchronization a technical term
for matching lip movements with voice, even if it is their own voice) occurred;
or that the Audio track was edited/doctored or is anything other than an
actual live performance of the song; Contestant will have to do a live performance
in front of judges, that matches the voice on the video, with only a CD
for music back-up.
**To upload videos to YouTube.com either you must have a YouTube account,
sign up for a YouTube.com account or use someone's YouTube account.
***Uploading the videos (shot by us or submitted by contestants) Contestant
videos will be uploaded to the voting website in the order of the Registration
Code number, which is sequentially numbered by the postmark date on your
Entry/Registration Form.
Video Submission:
Sometime after August 1, 2010, we will inform you when. You should upload
your video to Youtube.com, then email us the URL of your video on Youtube.com.
Once we have this information we will verify that your video meets the "Criteria"
above. If it meets "Video Submission Criteria" it will then be
embedded on our websites where voting will take place. You will then have
to provide us a hard copy (tape or DVD) of the uncompressed video and sign
the appropriate release. Please do not send us any videos until you receive
our request for it. Your video will be available on our website in the order
of your Registration Code number. Videos submissions will be accepted until
24 hours before voting starts.
